Brellum may be a young brand, but it's already known for high-quality, chronometer-certified watches with a focus on chronographs. The Pandial Bicompax Black DLC Ti Chronometer continues that focus, now in a sleek, stealthy titanium case with black DLC coating. Limited to just 46 pieces, this watch blends strong performance, modern design, and impressive finishing. But does it hold up in real life?

Design & Case

At 43mm wide and 15.9mm thick, this watch leans large, but thanks to its Grade 5 titanium construction, it's surprisingly light—just 72 grams. The black DLC coating adds durability and gives it a bold, tactical look.

Brellum sticks to its signature box-shaped sapphire crystal, with domed sapphire on both sides for a mix of vintage charm and modern refinement. The watch wears comfortably despite its dimensions, thanks to well-shaped lugs and a balanced caseback.

The fixed aluminum tachymeter bezel adds to the sporty aesthetic, though some might prefer ceramic at this price point. Water resistance is a solid 100 meters, making it a capable daily wear chronograph.

Dial & Legibility

The dial is where this watch shines. The deep navy blue main dial contrasts with black azurage subdials, creating a dynamic and refined look. The outer minute scale, sloping telemeter ring, and subtle sunburst finishing add layers of depth.

The bicompax layout (two-register chronograph) keeps things clean and balanced. Diamond-cut hands and indices, filled with Super-LumiNova, ensure great readability.

One gripe: the typography. Four different fonts—including a script-style "Titanium"—feel unnecessary. The date window at 6 o'clock, however, is well-executed, with a black disc that blends smoothly into the dial.

Movement & Performance

Powering this watch is Brellum's BR-111 automatic chronograph, based on a La Joux-Perret column-wheel caliber—an upgrade from the previous ETA 7750-based models. Key specs:

Strap & Wearability

The included woven black Nebur Tec strap matches the sporty look but is on the thicker side, requiring some break-in time. The DLC-coated titanium deployant clasp adds a premium touch but might take some getting used to in terms of comfort.

Value & Competition

At CHF 3,290 (USD 3,730), this watch delivers a lot:

TL;DR

The Brellum Pandial Bicompax Black DLC Ti Chronometer is a unique blend of modern materials, strong mechanics, and independent watchmaking. It's lightweight, accurate, and visually striking. The typography choices and lack of a ceramic bezel are small drawbacks, but they don't take away from the overall package.

With only 46 pieces available, it's a rare, well-crafted chronograph that delivers more than the price suggests. If you want an exclusive, high-precision timepiece with indie appeal, this one's a solid choice.
